Welcome to Healthy Eating for Families! I am Jodie Shield, a registered dietitian nutritionist and a real-life mom dedicated to reconnecting busy families one meal at a time. My mission is to help everyone in the family – children, teens, parents, and grandparents – eat healthier so that everyone can achieve a healthy weight.
I am a former American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics spokesperson, recipe developer, and freelance writer. In addition to my Healthy Eating for Families blog, you can read more of my posts at Food and Nutrition Magazine Stone Soup, Smart Eating for Kids, Valerie Latona, Sears Fit Studio, and Kamrt Playdate Place. Over the past twenty years, I have written over 300 newspaper, magazine, and blog articles on food and nutrition. In addition, I analyze recipes for the Chicago Tribune and Food and Nutrition Magazine. One of my greatest loves is teaching undergraduate and graduate nutrition communications courses at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL.
In 1989, I founded Healthy Eating for Families, Inc. a food and nutrition communications consulting company that offers a variety of nutrition consulting, free lance writing, and spokesperson services to:
- Public Relation Firms
