A cool and refreshing snack to help you celebrate August 3rd National Watermelon Day!
By: Jodie Shield, RDN
Anyway you slice it, watermelon is healthy and de-lish! Grab some cookie cutters, but skip the baking. Your kids are going to have a blast making and devouring watermelon cutouts. Simply slice up some ripe, juicy watermelon and let your kids use their imaginations (and cookie cutters) to create stars, hearts, and action figures – whatever shapes they love. I like to use any leftovers to make Watermelon Fizz – a super-cool, refreshing beverage perfect to sip during the lazy, dog days of summer.
